Mick Smiley

My name is Mick Smiley. Thank you for visiting my personal website. Below you will find details about my musical history.

The Mick Smiley Band was an LA fixture in the 1980s, playing the famous club circuit (The Whiskey, The Palace, Madame Wong’s, The Troubadour, The Starwood, etc.)

I was lucky enough to team up with Keith Forsey who produced my song “Magic”, which was featured in the original Ghostbuster’s movie and a Grammy nominee. I also played bass on the first Billy Idol EP featuring the hit song “Mony Mony” and wrote the song “Kiss Me Deadly,” which turned out to be a big hit for Lita Ford. All three went platinum.

Regardless of these moments of success, I was not signed to a record label so I decided to produce my own record, but no record company was interested at that time. And then what? My creative drive remained, and I kept producing music on my own, which I am now making available across various platforms, as well as this website.

Fast forward to 2022 and now you can hear music I produced throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, as well as more recent material I have developed in recent years. Please take a listen and you can judge for yourself. Email with your comments and I will be happy to respond: micksmiley_at_ca.rr.com.

I am producing and recording new material and will be releasing it in the upcoming months. For now, listen to selected materials on my YouTube Channel. You can also listen to my previously unreleased album Love is the Answer on all major music streaming services.

Cheers ~ Mick

And finally to my three amigos: My thanks to Balazs Antal for his cool licks and production help, Scott Smith for the video’s and Eduardo Navas for all his help and advice.
